FAQs

Do I need an electrician?

Anything involving fixed wiring (consumer unit, circuits, new electrical feeds, bathroom electrics, lighting circuits) should be handled by a qualified electrician. For jobs that touch both plumbing and electrics (for example electric showers, pumps, boiler controls, or underfloor heating controls), we can coordinate the right trade so the work is safe and compliant.

- If you smell burning, see sparking, or have repeated tripping, switch off the affected circuit (if safe) and get an electrical check.

Do you install or replace extractor fans in bathrooms?

Yes, we can arrange bathroom ventilation work, including replacing failed fans or upgrading ventilation as part of a bathroom project. We’ll advise on fan sizing, ducting routes and locations to best suit your layout.

Can you add electrical points or lighting as part of a bathroom renovation?

Yes. Bathroom electrics must meet strict safety rules, so we plan lighting, shaver sockets, mirrors, and any electric underfloor heating carefully. We can coordinate installation and ensure any required certification is provided.

My fuse box keeps tripping after the shower/pump runs — what does that mean?

It can indicate a fault with the appliance, moisture ingress, a wiring issue, or a failing protective device (RCD/RCBO). Stop using the affected equipment and arrange an electrical check to identify and fix the cause safely.

Do you provide electrical certificates for notifiable work?

If work is notifiable, it should be certified by the electrician completing the work (for example, under Part P where applicable). We’ll make sure certification requirements are clear before the job starts.
